Monster Cafe
When you need someone to deal with a monster problem, you need someone who is smart, brave, and qualified. The VanHellmans family is none of those things. But what they lack in skill, they make up for with a tricked-out RV, more guns than the state of Texas, and the power of arson. Do these descendants from the hunters who slayed the vampire, Dracula, have what it takes to stop the things that go bump in the night? Grab a grilled cheese and find out as Utah’s premiere monster hunting family travels across the country causing more problems than they solve on Monster Café!

Justin
Justin Langston is a friend to all except Barry. He knows what he did. Playing RPGs and studying folklore from around the world to fill his excessively lonely days of hermitage, Justin listens to the intrusive thoughts and giggles as he tries to put them to shame with his regular thoughts.
Paul
Dante Van Hellmmans is the first-born child of Dante VanHellmans and was a seasoned monster hunter before his untimely death. Fortunately, the powers that be saw fit to give him a second chance and resurrect him as an Angel. However, he has since been estranged from his family and only shows up once-in-a-while.
Paul’s day job is an accountant, which is probably why he’s the network’s Chief Financial Officer. He enjoys Magic: The Gathering, video games, and too many nerdy fandoms to count. He also co-manages the network’s Twitter/X and Bluesky Social Accounts.
Tensei
Eight year old David VanHellmanns is the third son of Delsin VanHellmanns.
He may not be as smart as his grandpa Archie, strong as his brother Dom, wise as Aunt Gigi, or high as his brother Eddie. But he helps the family hunt monsters with gumption, the power of heart, and this gun the game let me have for some reason.
Tensei is a producer and technical consultant for streaming and podcasting. With a decade of production experience across a wide variety of podcasts, YouTube, and Twitch, they work to make sure every project they touch is the best it can be. When they aren’t working on their own projects, he is the biggest fan of yours.
A child at heart, Tensei takes most of his inspiration from a variety of “children’s” media such as Power Rangers, Ben 10, and Digimon. He loves to let everyone get their moments to shine.
Kenny
Archie VanHellmans is the patriarch of the VanHellmans family, and stopped counting his age about two grandkids ago. He has a long, storied history of hunting monsters, and while he’s not as good as he once was, he makes up for it with a lot of experience and a stockpile of weirdly specific monster hunting gear, accumulated over decades of incidental acquisitions.
Kenny Myers is the current Dungeon Master for Bard Rock Café, meaning he plays the entire supporting cast. Once, in college, he and two other students overdosed three rats on cocaine. Following this devastating event, he spiraled into collaboratively writing with like-minded individuals over the internet. It was in this time of his life that he met his future wife, Leera, and then almost died of blood loss and dehydration in the hospital during finals week. He was still required to attend his history final against doctor’s recommendation. Kenny has since gotten his life together, and works at the psychiatric hospital as a counselor. He is currently going for his PhD, at which point he will attain his lifelong goal of keeping student loans in deferment for as long as possible while running out the clock on loan repayment programs. The intermittent reinforcement of dice-based collaborative storytelling keeps him out of the casinos. He is a loving father, husband, dog dad, and unhinged lunatic masquerading as a normal man.
Khadeja
Great Aunt Gigi got into monster hunting as a child many many many years ago, when a monster tried to take the family dog–but she saw the premonition, so was able to protect him by using one of her dad’s hunting traps, placing it where she knew the monster would go. Aunt Gigi is a feisty, bloodthirsty woman, ready and raring to rid the world of any monster that would harm anyone or any animal she loves. Nothing is going to stop ol’ Gigi! She’s a big fan of schadenfreude, witty insults, and “adult” jokes. And her gun. And her knife. And saying “I’M OLD” now that she knows how to take advantage of it!
When she isn’t podcasting, Khadeja heads Bard Rock Network’s Diversity and Inclusion efforts. She is also an up-and-coming voice actor who has also worked on the indie gaming scene. She also manages the network Tumblr account.
Steph
Eddie VanHellmanns is the chill middle bro who, like all the greats, quit business school halfway through to pursue his true life dream… being a Foodie Influencer. With the success of his grilled cheese van-chise (and inherited generational wealth), he has been able to spend more time with his family, bonding over their shared interest in monster hunting.
Stephanie Myers is a member of the Bard Rock Cafe crew and podcast network. Steph identifies as nonbinary and uses she/they pronouns. They currently live in Texas, where they work as a marketing creative and videographer during the week. On the weekends, they play as the tiefling character Epi in the Bard Rock Cafe podcast, who’s name was definitely not taken from their cat’s. Steph occasionally contributes character art and logos to the cast, but mostly contributes a few laughs and a whole lot of “yes, and-“s to the team.
Marty
Dominick VanHellmans is the elder brother of David and Eddie. He was an ordinary member of the family until being infected with lycanthropy during an unfortunate hunt. Having lived in relative seclusion since, Dom is slowly building his self-confidence back up and helps the family on hunts with his newfound werewolf powers.
